Dhuadhar- Bheda Ghat- Jabalpur

Sonu, You will be going to your Masi’s house this summer vacation and yes- Your maternal grandfather will be accompanying you on your journey.

This is what I got to hear from Mamma when I went my hometown this time. My reaction was a sort of melange not knowing how to react, the reason being, On one hand, my inability to stay with relatives for a long time and the other one my ardent desire of exploring new places. That time I nodded infront of my Mom, postponing to think about this topic later on. Somehow, I didn’t get much time to think or to be more precise since grandfather is going to accompany me, I was destined to go without if and buts.

So, what do you look for in such trips? Of course, the tourist places and the sites which give you serene peace inside. I got to know from some friends that ‘Jabalpur'( The city in which my Masi resides) has some places which are famous tourists and local attractions. The city is located in the central state ‘Madhya Pradesh’ and the holy river ‘Narmada’ also nourishes this river with its pious and cold water. ‘Bheda Ghat’ is the shore of this river where it passes through several marble rocks big and small. This Ghat is located at a distance of about 17 Km from Jabalpur Railway station. The place is aloof from city life or you can say that on the outskirts of the city, completely in the lap of nature’Dhuadhar’ is the name given to the waterfall at this place whose significance I will elaborate further. So here I am taking you into the pragmatic view of the place.

Isn’t a new sight to see local vendors at the entrance, selling local attractions of the city

Since the place is located at somewhat below the city level, you have to plod stairs downward, which is large though irregular in sizes but comfortable and yes, it’s not new to see the “locals making out living through nature“. Since the place is famous with other names i.e ‘Marble rocks‘ you can get the variety of handcrafted products from marbles. Due to this unrestricted policy of locals, the place is slowly losing its ethereal beauty for which it is known.

Guess what? Numerous neatly arranged conch shell!

Any religious ‘Puja’ is going on. You must have heard the conch sound. The sound can’t be called as sweet or hoarse, lets keep it in between the two. There is also one interesting myth about the shells that if you place it behind your ears, you’ll get to hear the sound of the ocean! Have you ever checked its scientific explanation? Go and check now.

The first glance. Isn’t a clear pic? Wait for other

The place had a good crowd including people from all the age group. The old one immersed themselves in thoughts, thinking deeply about the place, the teenagers were busy in capturing this scenic beauty in as many ways as possible including selfies and candids and the children aspiring to free themselves from their Mom’s grip to play amongst these rocks and water.

The reason why this fall is called “Dhuadhar

I think you have guessed till now. Haven’t you? Yes, when the water flowing at great speed falls from height to the rocks and marbles, it gives rise to fumes due to the collision. You can see clearly, the fumes arising in the picture. Apparently, the Hindi word ‘Dhua’ means Smoke. This place can be called the amalgamation of all natural beauties namely water, rocks and greenery. Visiting here would be like panacea of all your ills and odds.

Mehnat ka khayenge

I found these children kinda interesting. These small boys of about 10-12 years of age in semi-nude clothes turned out to be excellent swimmers. Not only this, they engage themselves in a game, unknown. Probably similar to that in movie Masaan’. The idea is you have to throw coins in the water and they will find out, diving deep into the water, scrounging the rocks. Where people like us are afraid to even stand in the stream, these children have made it look like a childish game. The thing which amused me most is that they won’t accept money casually. They will keep only that amount whatever they find. I found these children doing a more tough job than those of children in the movie ‘Masaan‘, as the former one is performing in the waterfall – One mistake and you will be nowhere. Anyway, this is one of my silly thought. I was more concerned about ‘Why their parents allow them to take such risky jobs’.

Nothing better than this!

Well, Confused about the other pair of the legs? Don’t worry, she isn’t any girl. Hahahhaha! He is my brother. By the way, Have you done this? I hope you have. Let the coldness travel from your leg to your mind to rejuvenates your whole body. As far as I am concerned, I can spend the whole day like this as in these two pics, not nights, Darr lagta hai yaar!!

Wanna aerial view of downside?? Trolley facility is available!

Travelling by trolley once used to be very risky but now it is like riding on a toy car. The pleasure you get is boundless.

Visit to any place is incomplete without shopping. You can find the variety of traditional, ethnic items which will keep you attracted as bees on nectar.

After viewing this blog, I don’t think you want to miss a chance of visiting there. Do visit whenever you get a chance. Also, a few kilometres away from this divine place, I pointed some houses on almost the field. They were scattered here and there in that pleasant weather covered by clouds. I, at once thought that it would be a nice place to dwell after the 40 years of age. Who all wanna come and live with me? Book your seat now by giving your consent in the comment box!!

Hahaha! Will be back soon with another amazing blog. And yes, from now the picture will carry more depth with my “Pragmatica”!
