Migration : A Devout Journey

On one sunny day

When the sky was almost clear ,cloud resembles as cotton ball

The time was just before the dawn

When I saw a number of birds

Sailing in the sky

Neither ten , not fifty nor hundred , I say

They were in thousands, conquering the whole sky

Like bees whose hives flung by stone,

like dust in the storm

Several flock went one after other

And I stood bewildered , flummoxed thinking about none

To me it appears as

Birds from ‘Okhla’ or ‘Sultanpur’

Decided to visit Switzerland or Khandala  in this intense summer

Or the birds from Delhi zoo

Freed themselves from the cage and decided to do

World tour

I can’t say whether it was Siberian crane or sandpiper

But each were equally enthusiastic

Among the flock I noticed something peculiar, something strange

A bird was far behind them

Struggling hard to accompany the flock

Making noise ,which I wished I could understand

May be it has been separated from the group due to some reason

May he be the child in the flock

Who was busy in searching ball in the corners of room

To play in the new place , with new friends

May he be to the elder person in group

Busy in packing eatables for family in the route

Or may be he is the young in the crowd

Who went to bade good bye to his beloved

And she  wasn’t willing to let him go

In the process of making her believe

“That he will return”

He got late and segregated from the group

Who can understand his pain….

Neither he got his lover nor his clan.
